MMA TRAINING

I have been training in the martial arts for about 22 years now and teaching for a lot of that time. I have a 2nd Black belt in Tae Kwon Do and have other belts in Brazilian jujitsu and Karate. I've taught all types of people, ages, levels etc. As far as I'm concerned ANYONE can do it and attain a good standard, you've just got to start at the right level for that person and progress at a pace that doesn't overwhelm them!

Classes are Mixed Martial Arts, No-gi grappling and for the ladies who may not enjoy the grappling side of those arts, we do kickboxing. The private sessions are whatever that person is interested in learning.

WHAT IS MMA

For those who don't know what MMA is it stands for Mixed Martial Arts. This is essentially a mixture of the best moves/techniques from all the different martial arts. It involves standup kickboxing type striking, wrestling type clinching, throwing and on the floor brazilian jujitsu techniques, which can include things like armlocks, leglocks and strangles.

WHO CAN LEARN MMA

Anyone can do MMA, ladies and even kids do it nowadays. It helps if you have a basic fitness level beforehand though.

I am planning on a kids class so watch this space!

WHY MMA

Mixed Martial Arts are the best the martial arts has to offer as far as effectiveness and being able to defend yourself but ALSO being able to practice safely, get fit, confident and have a lot of fun with it.

Everyone is brought on at their own pace. You may have seen things like the UFC and other top MMA competitions but I NEVER do that level of competing or training unless someone is completely ready for it and wants to do it.

A lot of people never want to compete, just have fun or get fit which is totally fine!
